Since 1972, the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce has produced Fiesta Hermosa, the ”largest arts & crafts fair in Southern California”. Over 400 artists and crafters are featured, including painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, and handicrafters. The festival takes place every Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) in downtown Hermosa Beach, California. With the ocean as a backdrop, Hermosa Beach is an ideal place for a summer festival with temperatures of 80 degrees and balmy sea breezes.

Presented by the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Orange County Chapter and the Urban Land Institute, Orange County/Inland Empire, and sponsored by Union Bank, and USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, featuring dozens of speakers.

Plácido Domingo Conducts World Premiere of Dulce Rosa The Broad Stage and L.A. Opera have joined forces to co-produce the world premiere of Dulce Rosa, a fully-staged opera by composer Lee Holdridge and librettist Richard Sparks, based on the Isabel Allende short story “Una Venganza” (“An Act of Vengeance”).

Public planetarium shows (suitable for all ages) are given by current astronomy and astrophysics graduate students. Content varies with presenters, but commonly includes discussion about the current night sky, constellations, astronomical phenomena, and more!
